MOTR Pub Art For Sale.

Here is a listing of what will be available at MOTR pub on opening night, Friday September 30, 2011.  The exhibit runs through October 25, 2011 and all art sales are a first come first serve basis.  Most of my work is painted on wood, but I did make two pieces where I glued thick Arches paper onto and painted on it from there.   I will also have sold pieces on display, so anything that you see in the show that isn’t listed here has already been sold and is on loan to me only for the exhibit.  I thought by posting what I have available now will help those interested in buying see the cost ahead of time.  I will not accept holds over the internet on any of my work.  You must attend the exhibit to purchase the art.  I hope you all can make it.  Flyers coming soon!

Egg

Egg pays tribute to the positive swastika symbol.  The piece is paper glued to a wood panel.   If you don’t follow my blog please read the previous post, “The Factory” regarding swastikas.  I am not a nazi nor does this have anything to do with the nazi’s.  I even hate having to state that, but people get weird and accusations fly.  Please educate yourself before making assumptions about the type of person I am.   I hope you all like this one.

The Factory

After one failed attempt at painting a skateboard I am happy to report that I made up for it with this new creation.  It’s titled, The Factory simply because it’s about the cycle of life and how everything feeds off each other to exist.   You might notice the moth in the upper right or the board has an interesting wing pattern.  I incorporated the swastika as a symbol of life, which is what it was intended to mean before Hitler ruined it.  I am in no way making a statement of hate or racism as this is an ancient symbol used by some Native American tribes, Hindu’s and Buddhists.  You can read more about the swastika here,  http://history1900s.about.com/cs/swastika/a/swastikahistory.htm  or here http://www.religionfacts.com/buddhism/symbols/swastika.htm

I see the swastika much like a see the spiral of a snail shell.  The spinning cycle of life and the importance of diversity in order for everything to survive.  There is no one central power, but an infinite number of lifeforms that hold earth together. What does a human heart have to do with all of this.  As always the heart is my portrait for humanity in which I am trying to bring us (people) back to the idea that we belong to this cycle too.  We are not controllers or gods we are another link in the circle of life.  Am I making earth happy art?  Perhaps I am, but I am not ushering in a war for the environment as I feel it is a loosing battle due to politics, population and most of all greed.  I am however looking for my soul in all of this and it always goes to what this skateboard shows.  Enjoy.

A Koi Fish for Rapture Day

The Chef

A friend of mine let me design this for him.  I incorporated his zodiac symbol, Leo with his talents in the art of food making.  Thanks Taylor for letting me tattoo this!

Bye-bye bitch

It’s nice to turn something horrible into something positive.

Super Sunday

2 tattoos that made up for being stuck inside on such a beautiful warm sunny day.

Please note that I did not do the lotus flower in the center.  I just made it less lonely. :-)
